Basil is our very first show dog who changed the trajectory of our lives. We fell in love with Pembrokes after working with so many from his breeder, Michelle Reeves of Once Upon A Times Corgis. While we knew that multiple Cardigans would suit our home better than multiple Pembrokes, we still knew that Basil was a special boy, and we wanted to take him as far as he could go. Ash and Basil have a ball in the ring, and they hope to continue to rise in the ranks in the NOHS circuit. We are extremely grateful to Michelle for letting us have this wonderful dog, and we appreciate her continued mentorship as we learn on this journey together.

Basil is named after Basil of Baker street from Disney’s The Great Mouse Detective, and his entire litter was named after other Disney rodents. He might not be quite as smart or inquisitive as his namesake, but he's still a quick learner. Of all the Corgis - Pem or Cardi - we’ve ever met, he has to be the sweetest. Every person he meets, adult or child, is his new best friend. He’s prone to throwing himself down in front of new friends, asking for a belly rub. If you don’t rub quick enough, he’ll wave both front paws to beg for it. . He’s also goofy as can be, often making ape-like noises when he plays.
